Powering the Universe with Massive Stars

Sally Oey (University of Michigan)

The Universe is an ever-changing place, and among the key agents of change are the most massive stars. These are the hottest and most luminous of stars, and, although few in numbers, they dramatically affect their environment by their strong ultraviolet radiation, supernova explosions, and stellar alchemy. We will explore how these processes drive the evolution of the host galaxies, and ultimately, the Universe itself.
